Kate Garraway pleads with GMB viewers to stick to covid guidelines to save Christmas

Kate Garraway wants the UK public to stick to covid guidelines - such as wearing masks, social distancing and the rule of six - put in place by the government.

The GMB host, 53, shared her opinion as she presented Thursday's edition of the ITV news show whilst looking at the papers morning headlines.

One front-page depicted Prime Minister Boris Johnson telling UK citizens to stick to coronavirus rules in order for Christmas to be “saved” and Kate agreed with the splash by stating: “That’s the idea.”

She also reiterated her point of view during a discussion with Dr Hilary.

The doc voiced his ideas on the coronavirus pandemic and the rules in place to stop the virus spreading.

“We need to keep this under control," the medical professional shared.

“Because if things get out of control we will definitely be requiring another national lockdown. 

“It did get things under control before, but that’s the last resort,” he noted. 

Kate then added: “Yep, Boris Johnson has said on the front page, ‘Stick to the rules so we can save Christmas.’

“That’s the general idea behind it," she said.

Kate's husband  Derek Draper  continues to slowly recover from his  coronavirus  illness.

It's been an incredibly tough few months for Kate as her beloved husband Derek continues to recover from Covid-19, which he contracted earlier this year.

Derek, 53, still remains in hospital but has awoken from his coma and is recovering from the extensive damage the virus has done.
