Kate Garraway revealed on Good Morning Britain she "couldn't see" last week while battling an eye and also inner ear infection, which left her unable to see properly.
The TV host told Ranvir Singh, who also fronts the show, she accidentally transferred money to the wrong person via online banking and was "mortified" when she had to ask for it back.
Kate is mum to two children, Darcy, 14, and Billy, 12, and her husband, Derek Draper, is now back home recovering after Covid complications left him hospital-bound for almost a year.
Ranvir joked that Kate was due for some bad luck after her horror year without her husband, while her car tyre blew out, then the car was stolen, and her boiler broke down shortly afterwards.

Kate began the show telling Ranvir: "It's nice to see you!"
Ranvir asked: "Well, can you see me? This is the issue! We were meant to be doing something earlier in the week, weren't we?"
Kate replied: "We were doing a special project, which you will see more about later in the year."
"But then you bailed on me, Garraway!" cried Ranvir.

Kate explained: "I did bail, because I couldn't see! I know it's always one of my excuses that I can barely read the autocue at the best of times.
"But I had an eye infection last Friday, it was watering a little bit while I was doing the show, and then it spread to the other eye, so I couldn't put my contacts in, I couldn't see anything.
"I was sending random texts to people with the wrong thing, really confusing.

'I transferred some money into the wrong account on an app and I had to ask for it back! It was mortifying," she cringed.
"And then I got an inner ear infection."
Ranvir remarked: "The thing is you've had a quiet year! Honestly."
Kate confirmed: "Nothing serious, just frustrating and annoying."
