Kate Garraway horrified after accidentally damaging borrowed car on family holiday

Kate Garraway has expressed her horror at accidentally damaging her borrowed car while on a family holiday.

Joining Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain today, she revealed that she had scratched a temporary car given to her by Peugeot.

Opening up about her trip away with her family, she explained that she had tried her best to be careful with the car as they travelled to the beach, but unfortunately ended up damaging the car.

She told co-host Ben: "Peugeot lent me a car to get down to Cornwall with the family.

"I was so careful. I was like a paranoid beast and my dad is with me and you know what my dad is like Ben.

"Anyway I think something happened in the car park as it looks like a cat as done that on it."

Sceptical, Ben laughed as he asked: "What a cat scratched your car?"

Kate appeared extremely apologetic and said: "Anyway, something has happened to it.

"So I apologise for that. It was a brilliant car. I will sort it out I promise."

And fans were delighted to have Kate back on screen, with one tweeting: "We really don’t deserve Kate #GMB."

Earlier on in the programme, GMB also confirmed Richard Madeley's return next week.

A dramatic, American-style trailer aired during the ad break teasing his return as Richard told viewers: "I'm unpredictable. I'm not often lost for words."

Clips from this week then showed Richard interviewing naturists and then Susanna saying: "Richard Madeley is a vampire."

He exclaimed in response: "What?!"

Back in the studio, he declared: "I really don't like it when people don't answer a straight question."

As various politicians - and Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood - flashed up on screen, Richard could be heard saying: "You're not dealing with a simple question, it's really straightforward."

He then told viewers: "Join me with Susanna [Reid] on Good Morning Britain."
