Kate Garraway heartache over Derek Draper ‘very sobering’ says Myleene Klass

Kate Garraway is receiving support from a surprising place as her husband remains unconscious in hospital.

Myleene Klass, 42, says that not a day goes by where she is not thinking about Kate, 53, and remains in regular contact with the Good Morning Britain host.

The former Hear’Say singer took over Kate's radio slot and has been supporting her friend throughout her heartbreaking ordeal.

Although Derek no longer has covid-19, the virus has since affected other parts of his body.

Doctors attempted to bring him out of his coma, but he is yet to wake up.

Myleene told the Express : "There's not a day I don't sit in Kate's chair and think about what she must be going through.

"I'm always in touch making sure she is okay.

"It's very, very sobering at the same time, because I can sit with my family at the dinner table but not everyone can. That's a constant reminder."

Kate recently opened up about her husband's fight for life, admitting she doesn't know if he'll ever fully recover.

She said during an appearance on GMB: "He has fought the most extraordinary battle.

"The fact that he's still here and holding on, he is now COVID-free, he has tested negative, the fight with the virus is over.

“But it's wreaked extraordinary damage on his body and we don't know if he can recover from that."
