Kate Garraway has described her fears over Christmas Day, with her poorly husband Derek Draper unable to be at home with her and the kids.
The Good Morning Britain host and children Darcey and Billy could spend Christmas alone if restrictions stay in place.
She shared her conflict over whether households should be able to mix, as she wasn't sure how to fill the "emotional hole" left by Derek's absence.
Getting emotional, Kate shared her fears after pal Lorraine Kelly called for the government's reported plans for five days of loosened coronavirus restrictions to be stopped.
Kate explained that she was panicked by the idea of her kids not only having to miss out on seeing poorly Derek, who remains in hospital, but to also not see their grandparents.
Derek was struck down with Covid-19 in March and was left in a coma - with Kate told on numerous occasions her husband would not make it.
She has updated fans regularly, with him having okay days and bad days in his recovery.
The virus seriously impacted his body and left him with complications he is still battling in hospital.
Months on and he is still unable to return home, meaning he will not be there for Christmas most likely for the first time since the children were born - while they also may not be able to visit him.
Kate said this would leave her with an "emotional hole" to fill - and that restrictions could make this more worrying for her.
Kate explained, as they brought up the possibility of restrictions at Christmas: "I feel physically sick actually and can feel my chest tightening at the thought of it.
"I'm in total panic about the idea of me, Darcey and Billy on our own this Christmas unable to visit Derek because of potential restrictions.
"That huge emotional hole, and I don't know how to fill it, without grandparents and without friends helping to fill it.
"It feels like such a significant moment as all festivals are. I do feel in a panic about it, but we're in this situation because of the spread of a disease that at the moment doesn't have a cure."
