Kate Garraway calls out Adil Ray live on air in awkward GMB opening

Kate Garraway called out Adil Ray on Thursday's Good Morning Britain for not getting her a birthday present.

The presenter, who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday with husband Derek Draper, was delivering today's news headlines while Adil and Susanna Reid hosted the show.

Asking Kate if she had a nice birthday, Susanna said: "A huge happy birthday. I mean, obviously we've been in touch but it's nice to see you."

Kate told viewers: "Actually, Susanna bought me something incredible, it's the most enormous furry throw. It's cream and furry."

"It's a blanket. It's a Game of Thrones blanket," Susanna explained.

Agreeing, Kate said: "Well exactly! Bill's been walking around with it like a Game of Thrones coat. It's really snuggly. Thank you!"

The 54-year-old then turned her attention to her co-host, adding: "Adil?" before he paused and awkwardly asked: "Yes, what? What was that?! That was a stern..."

"I was wondering where you present was," Kate joked.

Adil responded: "Oh I see, sorry! It's on it's way," stressing: "It's coming, it's coming! Oh hang on, I have! I sent you an invite this week, that's your birthday present!"

"That's true, we're going to the cricket aren't we?" Kate replied.
