Kate Garraway has announced that she will be taking over from Piers Morgan on Life Stories.
It comes after Piers Morgan claimed, to his fans on Twitter, that he was stepping down from the show, which has been airing since 2009.
Kate was congratulated by Ranvir Singh on ITV's Lorraine, who said: "Kate I was so thrilled, as is everyone in the building, to hear you are taking over from Piers on Life Stories. Congratulations."
The 54-year-old presenter responded: "Thank you very much indeed. I've got to go through the gambit of being interviewed by him first before he goes off to pastures new then I will do.
"But it will be lovely and I've got a big list of people I want to talk to."
She hopes to have stars such as Dawn French and Tom Jones appearing on the programme, when she steps into the new role.
Piers has stepped down from the position after working on the show for 12 years and appearing in more than 100 episodes.
However, in his final show he plans to interview his replacement before the Good Morning Britain presenter takes over as host for the remaining episodes.
Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV at 9am.
