TV’s Kate Garraway is trying her hand at treading the boards – in five musicals in one night.
The Smooth Radio presenter will race around London on a motorbike to star in Big The Musical (alongside The Wanted’s Jay McGuinness), School of Rock, Waitress and Magic Mike Live (with Aaron Witter). Then she’ll try to get to the chapel on time for Mamma Mia’s wedding finale scene.
“There are going to be logistical challenges,” laughs Kate – namely, getting out of her bike leathers and into costume.
“The wardrobe departments are like ninjas,” said Kate, 52, who has never acted – “except pretending to laugh at Piers Morgan’s jokes”.
She has a surprise in store during Magic Mike Live. “They’ve promised my modesty will be intact,” she adds.
She will get up at 2:15am next Thursday, and the next day, leaving just a few hours to
get some kip.
Kate Garraway’s West End Takeover will take place on Thursday 10th October, in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise.
