Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold sob as elderly couple reunite after 250 days apart

Good Morning Britain's presenters were in floods of tears early this morning after watching an incredibly moving clip showing an elderly couple reunited after 250 days apart.

Joseph and Eve Loreth, from Florida, are both in assisted living but had to be separated when Joseph had to have special treatment during the coronavirus pandemic.

The special moment was captured when they set their eyes on one another after more than eight months away from one another.

Introducing the clip on the ITV programme today, Kate Garraway said: "We have a wonderful couple who have been separated because -"

Her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Ranvir Singh interjected: "This is in Florida, isn't it?"

Kate continued: "It's not here in the UK, it's in Florida. They were separated because I think he had to have special rehab treatment."

"They were in assisted living but in separate assisted living shelters," Ranvir explained. "They've been married for 60 years, this couple."

Kate added: "They could normally meet but because he was having special therapy they couldn't and they had to spend 250 days apart and after 60 years of marriage, you can imagine how tough that was.

"Ranvir and I were both in tears when we watched this. Let's look at Robert and Eve being reunited."

Richard Arnold was incredibly touched by the clip (ITV)

The clip played shows Joseph being wheeled in with a mask on as his wife Eve gasps and says: "Oh my god... I sure miss you."

Joseph is overcome with emotion and begins crying as Eve hugs him.

"I didn't think I would get out of there," Joseph tells her. "I missed you so much."

Afterwards, Ranvir was clearly choked up as she said: "Oh dear me."

"Not a dry eye in the studio," Kate said as the camera panned to her tearful colleague. "Poor Richard Arnold."
