Kate Garraway and her husband Derek Draper had been planning their second wedding before he was struck down with coronavirus.
The former Labour adviser, 52, is currently in hospital fighting COVID-19 in intensive care and Kate is at home self-isolating.
The devastating news of Derek's health battle comes just weeks after Kate confirmed they were moving ahead with plans for a vow renewal ceremony after her partner popped the question for a second time.
The Good Morning Britain presenter has been married to Derek since 2005 and they are parents to daughter Darcy, 13 and son William, nine.
But he prosed again after admitting falling in love with her all over again while she was on I'm A Celebrity last year.
Kate, 52, explained they enlisted the help of their daughter Darcey, 13, with the preparations.

She told Prima : "We’re going to have a second wedding and Darcey’s going to plan the whole thing. She’s 13, so it could be very interesting, but we’ll see.
"I think she will probably want me to look like Kendall Jenner on the day which is going to be tough… I would love to look like Kendall Jenner as well, so good luck with that!"
It looks like the plans are now on hold as Derek battles coronavirus.
Kate is currently in isolation with the kids after showing mild symptoms while her husband fights the bug in hospital.

A rep for Kate said: "Kate's husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
"He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.
"Kate, hasn't been tested, however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."

Kate took her two kids out to the frontstep of their London home this week to join the clap to thank frontline staff who are fighting to save Derek.
Kate clapped and cheered along with her son and daughter before getting emotional and drawing the youngsters in for a group hug.
She captioned the video: "We had a an extra special reason to #clapthecarers in our house tonight but there’s a special reason for us all isn’t there.
"Thank thank you to all the health workers caring for our loved ones and key workers keeping our lives going. You are incredible."
