Kate Ferdinand swaps heels for comfy slippers as she prepares to give birth

Kate Ferdinand effortlessly combined glam with comfort as she prepares to welcome her first child with Rio Ferdinand.

The former TOWIE star, who is expecting a baby boy, is thought to be due this month.

The 29-year-old posed in a chic navy dress teamed with fluffy grey slippers as she lovingly embraced her bump.

Kate said her baby 'is very comfy in here' as she smiled for the camera in a photo shared on her Instagram.

And addressing the choice of footwear she said slippers are 'the only way right now' as she nears her due date.

Her smitten husband, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, gushed: "Hot mama."

And he pressed the button on a love heart emoji as he showed his appreciation.

When one follower pointed out "you've been pregnant for ever" Kate replied "tell me about it" with a crying-with -laughter emoji.

"Is it nearly time for him to meet the world?" asked another.

"You look wonderful," commented another follower.

"Glowing," said another.

The couple, who married last September, announced their happy news in June.

They were sitting around the table chatting with Rio's children with his late wife Rebecca Ellison, when they broke the news.

Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, jumped to their feet in excitement and the family cheered and hugged each other as they shared their joy.

"The crazy house is about to get a little bit crazier," said Kate as she posted a video of the moment on Instagram.

And football pundit Rio, 42, wrote: "We got our wish, another Ferdinand en route!!

"@xkateferdinand I can’t wait to go through this whole pregnancy together and then bring our little human into this world."

Kate and Rio started dating in 2017 and the couple married in September 2019.

Their story featured in the documentary, Rio and Kate: Becoming a Stepfamily.

It followed Rio's emotional BAFTA-winning 2017 documentary Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum And Dad, which followed the footballer having to come to terms with losing his wife and being the sole parent to their children.
