Kate Ferdinand is known for posting uber glam photos but has now made the brave decision to share a make-up free selfie revealing she has pigmentation.
The wife of ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand decided to post the candid snap after people kept asking her "what’s the dark thing above your lip?“
Pigmentation is a very common skin condition, which can get worse after pregnancy and refers to patches of skin that become darker than surrounding areas of skin.
Mum-of-one Kate captioned her selfie with: "Me without makeup. For the last few years even with SPF 50 & a hat, as soon as the sun comes out my face looks like a patch work.
"I always feel so insecure about it & it really does get me down, I try to cover it at all costs.
"For much of my life I’ve felt like I have to try my best to be perfect, I’m fed up of having crazy unrealistic expectations all of the time.
"Although I make it hard for myself sometimes I’m trying my best to love myself as I am."

Kate's candid post was met with an outpouring of support from her followers including from former Miss England Danielle Lloyd, who said: "Well done @xkateferdinand I get trolled all the time for my pigmentation it gets worse with pregnancy also thank you for sharing and showing it’s normal."
Another said: "You look beautiful, well done for talking about."
While a third agreed saying: "Love this!! I have this and I really worry what people will think. Thank you for sharing."

Kate is known for being open with her fans and documented her recovery after having a C-section following the birth of her son Cree last year.
Speaking to The Mirror she said: "I don't think I could train for six weeks, I didn't even really walk for six weeks I don't think, and then I've been gradually building it up slowly.
"I am just listening to my body I'm not doing anything if I feel like it's pulled or it's just a little bit too much I'll just stop.
"I was a bit of machine before I had a baby I realise, just a crazy workout machine, and now I just take it as it comes.
"I'll try and do as much as I can but if it doesn't feel right on my scar I'll just tone it down."

Kate said she felt "traumatised" by the surgery and her anxiety was high as she wanted to be able to do more with her baby and step-children while she was recovering from the operation.
She is step-mum to Rio's older three children, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and 10-year-old Tia.
The TV star continued: "I did really struggle. I think I was a bit traumatised because I wasn't expecting the C-section and I struggled with the fact I couldn't do things with Cree and the big kids and it was Christmas.
"I do suffer with anxiety and my anxiety was at an all-time high in those times."
