Kate Ferdinand says she's been crying and emotional after giving birth

New mum Kate Ferdinand has opened up about feeling emotional after giving birth for the first time.

The wife of former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand welcomed their son Cree just before Christmas.

Taking to Instagram Kate, who had a traumatic birth by caesarean section, was feeling up for a Q&A session with her followers.

"How are you feeling?" asked one concerned follower.

"I am slowly feeling better each day, it's a gradual recovery and I'm taking it really easily but it's good to be seeing little improvements daily," the former TOWIE star wrote.

She continued: "I've always been super emotional, whatever I'm feeling everyone always knows, I like to wear my heart on my sleeve.

"Since giving birth my emotions are still all over the place, I cry often... I feel so happy with our beautiful new addition but often having moments of feeling overwhelmed.

Kate, 29, then added with a crying-with-laughter emoji: "I don't know whether I'm coming or going most days."

The doting stepmum to Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, previously shared a candid picture of her bruised body after giving birth as she held newborn Cree.

She was praised for her honesty as she spoke about having an emergency cesarean and shared a snap of wearing a large pair of black knickers, which she advised is an essential item for mums-to-be.

The fitness fanatic says she 'can't wait' to start working out again.

"They say six weeks recovery ... I have just over three weeks to go!" she declared.

"I will take it really easy when it's time to train again.

"But it will be nice just to get moving more."

She added: "I really miss the way working out makes me feel mentally."
