Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he is a 'strict' parent and loves to be hands-on when it comes to looking after his four children.
The 42-year-old former footballer, who welcomed baby Cree with Kate Ferdinand in December, says that he certainly does his bit when it comes to changing nappies and supporting his family.
Speaking to The Sun, Rio revealed that he was happy to support Kate with all the household tasks as well as bath time and cooking for the kids.
He also suggested that he sees himself as quite a strict parent but tries to strike a balance and make sure the children are enjoying themselves.
“I’m quite hands on, I think Kate would say the same. I don’t mind changing the nappies at all, bath times and stuff are great, also a bit of cooking when I can, I don’t mind doing that as well,” Rio told the publication.
When quizzed about his parenting tactics, Rio added: “Yeah I am quite strict. I think it’s finding the balance really. You’ve got to be strict, but you’ve got to allow the kids to have a good time and enjoy themselves, within reason.
“When it comes to things like snacks, it’s doing it at the right time and controlling the amounts when they’re young kids. My kids are good like that, we’ve got them into a good routine. When we watch football or watch a movie, that’s our snack time and we love it.”
Rio is a proud dad to Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, Tia, 10, who he shares with his late wife Rebecca, as well as six-month-old baby Cree who he shares with Kate.
The footballing ace married Kate at a lavish ceremony in 2019 and she is a supportive step-mum to the older three.
TOWIE star Kate also recently celebrated her 30th birthday in style and enjoyed her special day surrounded by her loved ones.
The family had previously jetted out on a luxury holiday to a mystery location where they enjoyed lots of quality time in the sunshine.
Taking to Instagram earlier today, Kate shared a collection of snaps taken from her recent get-together as she posed alongside her hubby.
"The most fabulous evening celebrating my birthday with my nearest & dearest … couldn’t have asked for a better night, so much love & good vibes," Kate wrote, adding: "(It was all within Covid guidelines, 28 people outside)."
