Kate Ferdinand responds to 'offensive' claim over her baby son and step-children

Kate Ferdinand says she would take 'huge offence' to any claims she loved her baby son more than her three step-children.

The 29-year-old and husband Rio Ferdinand welcomes their first child, Cree, into the world in December.

Since meeting and then marrying the former Manchester United star in 2019, Kate has been step-mum to Rio's three children with late wife Rebecca.

In an Instagram Q&A, the former reality star admitted that she was asked about "a lot" about whether she loves her biological son more than Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12 and nine-year-old Tia.

One of her followers asked: "Do you love your own child a lot more than step-children? I fear this will happen to me."

To which new mum Kate replied: "People ask me this a lot, and I can only speak for myself as everyone is different…

"I love all four children equally and I will never see any difference between my biological and non biological children."

She continued: "Lorenz, Tate, and Tia taught me what it feels like to love a child way before I had Cree.

"We worked so hard as a family to get to where we are now, and I take huge offence if anyone even suggests I would love Cree more than them.

"We have been through A LOT as a family, and that I believe has cemented my love for them so deep that the fact we are not blood is not important."

Doting stepmum Kate has been sharing her journey after giving birth for the first time with open and honest posts on her Instagram.

Rio has also spoken out about becoming a dad for the fourth time, admitting that fatherhood this time round is very different.
