Kate Ferdinand pranked by her step-kids as they pretend to be fans on Instagram

Kate Ferdinand got a shock this week when she realised her step-kids were pranking her on Instagram.

It is no secret that Kate shares a close bond with her husband Rio Ferdinand's three children. They have such a good relationship that the kids decided to play a joke on her on Instagram in a really funny post.

Kate shared with her 1.4 million followers that she was stuck in traffic on her way home, inviting them to ask her questions, which she answered on her Instagram story.

Having previously posted about how her baby son Cree was not sleeping, Kate got a question was posted by a user claiming to be a big fan.

They wrote: "Please a shout out... I'm a massive fan. I hope baby Cree slept well."

The response from quick-witted Kate showed just how strong her relationship with the Ferdinand kids is as she realised one of the youngsters was joking about with her.

She wrote: "This is one of our kids. And just sums up our house. Everyone is on a wind up constantly.”

Kate the jokingly scolded the kids, adding: "Go an do your homework".

Rio and Kate, who have been married since 2020, are often active on social media, sharing their family life together and liking and commenting on each other's posts.

Rio recently commented on one of Kate’s posts in which she looked sensational in a striking brown blazer, white trousers and a vibrant orange bag, calling her a "yummy mummy."

She is step-mum to Rio's three kids, Lorenz, 12, Tate, 10, and Tia, eight, from his marriage to late wife Rebecca Ellison, who died in 2015 after a battle with cancer.

The elder boys, Lorenz and Tate, have Instagram accounts, but they keep them private.

The couple opened up about their life together in a BBC documentary called Rio and Kate: Becoming a Step Family, with Kate admitting how she struggled at times with her new role as step-mum.

She later admitted that doing the documentary saved her and Rio's relationship which was going through a rough patch at the time.

Rio and Kate became parents to new baby Cree, their first child together, in December 2020.
