Kate Ferdinand admits she felt 'daunted' when Cree developed rash

Kate Ferdinand has opened up about becoming a first time mum, admitting she felt "daunted" at times.

The former TOWIE star said that when her son Cree, who she welcomed last year with her husband Rio Ferdinand, developed nappy rash she didn't know what to do.

She said: "After I had Cree, it was a real adjustment for the both of us.

"Everything was so new, and you really don't know what being a parent entails until you are in the thick of it.

"Even when Cree experienced something really common like nappy rash, it was daunting knowing what to do next."

The new mum used WaterWipes, which are a clinically proven wipe that beats nappy rash.

"I feel confident I'm doing the best for Cree's skin," Kate added.

Kate and Rio married in a lavish wedding at a five-star hotel in Turkey in September 2019.

Through her husband, Kate is stepmum to Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, 10, who Rio shared with his late wife Rebecca.

They welcomed baby Cree, now five-months-old, back in December.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Kate recently opened up about the "traumatic" emergency caesarean section she had to deliver Cree.

She admitted that she didn't walk for six weeks or leave her bedroom while she recovered from the surgery.

Kate told us: "I had an emergency C-section, that's like major stomach surgery, so you really have to ease yourself back in and listen to what the doctor said.

"I don't think I could train for six weeks, I didn't even really walk for six weeks I don't think, and then I've been gradually building it up slowly."

She went on: "It was the trauma from the operation, the lack of normality, it was a lockdown, I couldn't see people, I couldn't leave my bedroom because I was too sore.

"All of those things, it was difficult, but looking back I've come so far. What women go through, it's amazing really."

Kate also told us that she didn't feel guilty about leaving Cree on her first night out since becoming a mum as she felt like herself again.

She said: "It was fabulous, I don't know if I'm meant to say that.

"Everyone's like, I've seen lots of people who have been like, 'Oh my God, you must have missed the baby so much.' I was like, no."

Kate added: "I thought I'd have a few drinks, I was too scared to drink too much so I had a couple and before you know it was back in the car with my blanket again and my makeup off.

"I was too scared of the hangover!"
