Kate Bush, Foo Fighters and Jay-Z are among the nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2021 class.

The “Running Up That Hill” singer was previously nominated for the honour in 2018, however, was not inducted with the likes of Nina Simone and Bon Jovi that year.

This year's short-list of nominees also include Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Devo, Tina Turner, New York Dolls, LL Cool J, Mary J Blige and Todd Rundgren.

In order to be eligible for nomination, a musician must have released their recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

Seven first-time nominees feature on the list: Foo Fighters, JAY-Z, Iron Maiden, The Go-Go’s, Dionne Warwick, Carole King and Fela Kuti.

King was previously inducted into the Rock Hall in 1990 as a songwriter, but this year marks her first nod as a performer.

The Class of 2021 will be decided by a voting body comprised of more than 1,000 artists, members of the music industry, and historians.

Fans will also have the opportunity to cast their vote on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s website

Last year’s ceremony – which was conducted virtually due to coronavirus precautions – saw Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious BIG, T Rex, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers and Depeche Mode receive the prestigious honour.

This year's induction ceremony is scheduled to place at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio this autumn.
