Actress and activist Kate Beckinsale has publicly called out Mark Ruffalo, claiming that he ignored her in the DMs after she was allegedly fired by her agent for liking a post about a ceasefire in Gaza.
Under an Instagram reel for Palestine 36 featuring Ruffalo, Beckinsale left a scathing message calling the actor and an unnamed agent, writing, “I guess having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot”.
“Gosh, it must be so nice not to be fired by your agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children,” Beckinsale wrote in the now-deleted comment.

“I guess having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same Agent that I had and she sent me a gift the week before so we didn’t have any beef, but I liked a post about a ceasefire and I’ve got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon was fired, two days after the end of the strike after nine months of none of us being able to work at all,” she continued.
Fellow actress Saradon claimed she was “blacklisted” from Hollywood after speaking out about Gaza and calling for a ceasefire.
“I was fired by my agency, specifically for marching and speaking out about Gaza, for asking for a ceasefire,” Saradon said during a discussion ahead of receiving the International Goya award at the Spanish Film Academy’s Goya Awards, per Reuters.

Further in her comment, Beckinsale opened up about her recent struggles following the loss of her mother, stepfather and her cat.
“I was dealing with the fact that on top of my mother having been told she had six weeks to live with brain cancer, and being [a] carer for both of them, the day before my stepfather had had a catastrophic stroke on top of two types of cancer,” Beckinsale penned.
“Which led to his death and I was preparing to fly to England to bring him back so that I could take full care of him and I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent and yours who is very close to her elderly parents and definitely knew what I was dealing with, alone.”

Towards the end of her comment, the Underworld actress praised Ruffalo for his activism for Palestine, but claimed he ignored her when she DM’d him about her situation “months ago”.
“I applaud your voice and your activist but the price you pay for having a vagina while even remotely liking a post that was un political as it could possibly be, just asking for mercy for children and babies by UNICEF, in fact doing one millionath of what you have laudably done, cause me to be fired and you not, and that is, to say the least interesting,” she wrote.
“At least it is to me and other female actors and women’s advocate groups. I DMd you about this months ago, but you ignored me.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, in another deleted comment, Beckinsale told another user that she was “okay with him ignoring him”, but what she felt was “male privilege even in the good guys”.
“It is such a given that of course I did not get a response, and I really and truly support Mark Ruffalo and everything he is doing, but no, I@will [sic] not get a response not here and not ever,” Beckinsale said in another comment, per Entertainment Weekly.
“I sent a message to Mark months ago, and he ignored it. There is absolutely no reason why he would respond to it now,” she continued, before adding that she wasn’t “blaming Mark” for what happened between her and her agent.
At the time of writing, Ruffalo has not responded to Beckinsale’s scathing claims, and the actress has not shared any further comments regarding her interaction with the Marvel star and her ex-agent.
