Kate Beckinsale says painful leg injury was 'worse than having a baby'

Kate Beckinsale suffered a painful injury while putting on a pair of leggings, and she says it was 'worse than having a baby'.

The movie star, 48, was recently rushed to hospital due to the incident - which she opened up about on Monday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Kate revealed the injury happened during filming for Prisoner's Daughter in Las Vegas.

She told host James: "Having done eight or 900 action movies, I hurt myself putting on a pair of leggings in my hotel room."

Kate added that she was working on an "intense, emotional drama" at the time of her injury, and that stunts did not cause the incident.

"I was in my hotel room putting on a pair of leggings, and it felt like a sort of guitar string snapped and everything was horrible," she said.

"I mean, worse than having a baby bad, like bad," she continued. "I couldn't walk, I couldn't lie down, I couldn't sit down. I couldn't do anything."

Kate admitted she struggled to leave the hotel room or to even stand up after it happened.

She laughed: "Eventually an ambulance came and they sort of rolled out a sheet and picked me up in it like a sort of sausage, and put me on a gurney."

The Hollywood star then told viewers: "I'm alright now," in a bid to reassure them.

Kate was rushed to the Emergency Room of a Las Vegas hospital last month.

She was staying at the Signature at MGM Grand while in Sin City to shoot for her latest film.

In July, the brunette beauty was reunited with her daughter Lily in New York after spending two years apart due to the pandemic.

Kate appeared on US TV’s Live with Kelly and Ryan when she told the show's hosts about the enforced absence with her daughter.

Speaking about the ordeal Kate said: "I haven't seen my daughter for two years because of everything. Also, I went to Canada working and she couldn't come see me."

She joked that she’d kept in touch with her daughter via online chats, but she said she was apprehensive about having a real-life reunion.
