Kate Beckinsale responds to fans calling for her ex Pete Davidson to date Gisele Bündchen

Kate Beckinsale has responded to fans calling for her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson to date Gisele Bündchen amid her 'split' from Tom Brady.

Despite being 20 years his senior, British actress Kate and the Saturday Night Live alum dated for a few months back in 2019 – even winning the support of Pete's ex-fiancée Ariana Grande.

And now Kate has subtly reacted to a meme suggesting that her former lover should date Gisele, who may be newly single.

She recently 'liked' a meme about the Tom and Gisele split rumours – it featured a picture of her ex Pete smiling into the camera.

He's previously had relationships with several well-known stars including Ariana Grande, Phoebe Dynevor and Kaia Gerber – and more recently Kim Kardashian.

Beckinsale and Pete were first spotted 'being very flirty' together while leaving the Golden Globes after party together in January in 2019.

At the time, a source told Page Six: "They were sitting very close on the outside patio seating. Kate had her hand on his knee, and she kept laughing at all his jokes."

Pete's chart-topping ex-fiancée Ariana was quizzed by paparazzi just one month later and described the rumoured relationship as "so cute".

By March that year their relationship was no longer a rumour as they shared their first public kiss at a New York Rangers hockey game – a picture which continues to be a viral meme.

A few days later Pete referenced the union in a skit for SNL, saying: "Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference."

Towards the end of the month, Beckinsale addressed her relationship with Davidson for the first time in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

She said: "I've never been in this position before—never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It’s all quite shocking, and something to get used to.

"I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not."

But less than a month later, by the end of April, the relationship was over after a source confirmed the break-up to the ET.

"They’re still friendly but are not on romantic terms," they told the publication at the time.

Tom and Gisele reportedly contacted divorce lawyers "weeks ago" amid speculation that the couple are having "marital issues".

Rumours suggest that the American football player, 45, and the fashion model, 42 - who have been married since 2009 - have been going through a rocky patch recently.

The couple - who have two kids together - are said to be living in separate homes and Gisele has reportedly been absent from his recent games for Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It has now been alleged that the pair have been seeking advice from divorce lawyers for several weeks, with them said to be looking at what their potential separation would entail.

Sources told TMZ that the estranged couple have independently contacted "some big divorce lawyers" and that conversations with them "started several weeks ago".

A source told PageSix: "I don't think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be."

The Mirror previously approached Tom and Gisele's reps for comment.
