Kate and Rio Ferdinand exhausted by 160 squat challenge during lockdown exercise

Kate and Rio Ferdinand put themselves to the test with a vigorous exercise routine where they challenged each other to complete a whopping 160 squats in a day.

Sharing a clip of the family as they wandered through the woods, Kate donned enormous aviator shades as she talked her fans through the tricky challenge they had agreed upon.

Although the former TOWIE star, 28, and her footballer husband, 41, got off to a good start and both confidently dipped into their deep squats, it didn't last long.

Even while Rio's daughter counted the squats in encouragement, the couple began to feel the stain.

At one point on her social media, Kate exclaimed: "'100 to go... what is this guys!"

In the next video, it had all become too much and she explained that they had to take breaks inbetween.

"Guys, we're having to do like 50 then have a little walk because the legs are getting a bit tight. 50 to go, we've done 110. Send help, please!"

Although they struggled with their tight muscles, not too long after Kate revealed that they had successfully completed the challenge.

The bombshell also noted that tomorrow they could enjoy a 'rest day'.

Their impressive squat skills form part of a challenge that the duo had created to keep fans energised and entertained in lockdown.

The daily routine comes in three different degrees of difficulty from beginner and intermediate to advanced.

The family's daily exercise kick followed shortly after Kate admitted that workouts had helped her cope with the lockdown.
