Kaspa’s Desserts venue to open on Barry Island

A Kaspa’s Desserts is to open on Barry Island in mid-September.

Kaspa’s Desserts has more than 100 stores nationwide and calls itself the fastest growing dessert diner in the UK.

The dessert parlour chain offers hot and cold desserts, with waffles, crepes, sundaes, cakes, puddings, exclusive gelatos, milkshakes, smoothies, as wells as teas and coffees.

The Barry Island venue, which will be run by a franchisee, will employ 25 members of staff.

The new venue will open in the unit between Greggs and the Barrybados Beach Hut gift shop on Paget Street.

Jason Frayne, one of the directors, along with Heather Scott-Cook and Zak Frayne, was born and raised in Barry and excited to bring the venture to the famous Island. The trio have invested £400,000 into the project.

Jason Frayne said: "We spotted a niche in the market to offer a non-alcoholic late night environment for families and youngsters in the area."

Mr Frayne added that they are working in conjunction with training provider ACT Training to offer accredited management qualifications, there will be no zero hours contracts, and all over 23's will be paid the 'Real Living Wage'. He added 16 and 17-year old will start on £8 per hour.
