Kashmiri journalist escapes attempt on life

A journalist on The Hindu, an Indian newspaper, has reportedly escaped from an attempt on his life. Shujaat Bukhari, a correspondent in Jammu and Kashmir, said that he had been abducted by two men while in a taxi. One tried to shoot him but the pistol jammed. "It is an attack on the freedom of the press," said one of Kashmir's leading politicians, Mehbooba Mufti. (Via DailyTimes - National)
