Kash Patel has reacted to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, calling it “something the movies don’t even write about”.
On Saturday (25 April), a suspected gunman attempted to storm the black tie event at the Washington Hilton hotel at 8:30pm, with shots fired before he was apprehended by the Secret Service. Nobody was injured.
Speaking to Fox News on Monday (27 April), the FBI director said: “This was almost the entirety of the president's cabinet. The president and vice president himself and 2000 members of the media. This is something the movies don't even write about.”
In a manifesto allegedly belonging to suspect Cole Allen, the 31-year-old said he planned to attack Trump administration officials, prioritizing them from highest-ranking to lowest but excluding Patel, a law enforcement official told Reuters.
