Kash Ali suspended for biting David Price by British Boxing Board of Control

Kash Ali has been suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control after biting David Price in the fifth round of their heavyweight contest.

Ali was disqualified after allegedly biting Price for the fourth time in the contest after wrestling him to the floor leaving visible reddening on the midriff, as well as attempting a number of headbutts.

Afterwards, Price labelled Ali a “disgrace” and claimed he would “never want to share a ring with that animal again”.

Ali will now face a hearing in front of the BBBoC’s central area council with possible sanctions ranging from a fine to a lengthy ban.

The 27-year-old has also had his £20,000 purse withheld.

Price was thoroughly controlling the bout with Ali becoming increasingly frenetic as his prospects of victory faded.

Ali told iFL TV: “I had him hurt in the fifth. I could have stopped him, which I would have.

“We ended up wrestling down anyway and it was a stupid thing what I did. It was ridiculous – there are no excuses for it.”

Ali promised he would attempt to make a return, while promoter Eddie Hearn didn’t rule out the possibility.

Tony Bellew, a close friend of Price’s, added: ”They were disgusting things which have no place in a boxing ring. He is a disgrace and he shouldn’t be allowed back in a boxing ring ever again.”
