Kasey Chambers and Busby Marou are co-headlining a national tour that stops off at Newcastle's Civic Theatre on September 26.
The Behind The Barricades Tour will see Chambers, Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou performing 22 shows in metro cities and regional towns in all-ages venues right across the country.
"I've been mates with the Busby Marou boys for a long time through music, stories and fishing, and we are proud to announce that we are sharing this special tour together," Chambers said.
"First we're playing our own sets of our most popular songs from down through the years, and also joining together for a unique set that showcases our musical connection and friendship like no other.
"It's time to take this beach campfire jam to the stage."
The respect is mutual.
"We've made a very special connection with the Chambers family over the years and to be able to share the big stage with Kasey for a full national tour is the best news we've had in a long time," the duo said.
"Kasey is in a league with the most talented and hardest working artists in this country. We can't wait to bring our full band on this tour and to share the stage with Kasey for some exciting collaborations.
"Bring on the memories."
It's been 20 years since Kasey's ARIA number one and seven-times platinum album Barricades and Brickwalls was released. It featured the hit single Not Pretty Enough which topped the ARIA Singles chart at the same time - a first for any Australian artist.
Busby Marou have gained a reputation as one of Australia's hardest working live bands, known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship. The duo won their third APRA songwriting award earlier this year for Over Drinking Over You from their ARIA top five album The Great Divide, their third top five release.
You might also recognise Marou, a proud Torres Strait Islander, and Busby, a patriotic Queenslander, from Tourism and Events Queensland's "Good To Go" campaign on television.
