Kasabian blew the roof off Glasgow's O2 Academy after the band brought out their new member following Tom Meighan's exit.
The Fire singers kicked off the first day of their UK tour and played their first show without lead singer Tom, who quit the band last year after pleading guilty to assaulting his now wife, Vikki Ager.
Fans were surprised when former guitarist Serge Pizzorno took on the role of the lead singer and new guitarist Rob Harvey graced the stage.
There had been mass speculation for a few months over who would replace Tom but it seems that Serge has stepped in for vocals and they drafted in Rob to play guitar.
Fans took to Twitter to praise Rob for joining the band.
One wrote: "Rob Harvey doing bits for kasabian."
Another added: "The perfect step in."
Another praised Serge for taking on the lead singer role despite critics saying there is 'No Tom, No Kasabian'.
They wrote: "Everyone saying “No Tom No Kasabian” can shut their mouths. Serge is a perfectly capable frontman and Kasabian brought the house down. It’s good to have you back lads."
Another added: "The new Kasabian F*****G SMASHED IT!! You guys are in for a Treat if you’ve got tickets or seeing them next summer!! The energy & enthusiasm they all brought was out of this world."
Rob even posted on his Instagram story thanking Glasgow for a great night.
He said: "Glasgow that was beautiful."
Last July, the band revealed that Tom had left by mutual consent.
In a statement at the time, the band said: "Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent.
"Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.
"We will not be commenting further."
The 39-year-old singer, who has been the lead vocalist of Kasabian since they formed in 1997, subsequently wrote on Twitter: "Following today's announcement I just wanted to let you all know that I am doing well.
"I'm in a really good place now.
"Thanks for all your love and support. I'll be seeing you all very soon. TM x."
The day after the news was announced, Tom plead guilty to assaulting his partner Vikki Ager.
The 39-year-old appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court in July last year and pleaded guilty to assaulting Vikki Ager on April 9, 2020.
The court was told Meighan "smelt heavily of intoxicants" as he assaulted his former fiancee.
It heard a child witnessed the assault and contacted 999 to say a "domestic incident was taking place".
Prosecutor Naeem Valli said the child "sounded panicked and afraid" while making the call and the victim could be heard saying "get off me, get off me".
Mr Valli said officers described Vikki Ager as being "visibly upset" while Meighan was said to be "unco-operative and aggressive".
Meighan's departure from Kasabian left guitarist Serge Pizzorno and bassist Chris Edwards as the only remaining founding members, with current drummer Ian Matthews joining the group in 2004.
Guitarist Chris Karloff previously left the group in 2006 to form a new band called Black Onassis.
He was replaced by Jay Mehler who then left the band for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013.
Kasabian have released six studio albums - their last release being 2017's For Crying Out Loud.
Over the years, Kasabian have been recognised with several major music accolades including a Brit Award in 2010 for Best British Group.
They also headlined Glastonbury Music Festival in 2014 and in the same year they were named 'Best Live Act at the Q Awards - an award they also took home at the 2007 and 2018 NME Awards.
