Kasabian have confirmed they will come to Scotland for the first date of their tour as they return to the stage following the departure of their former frontman Tom Meighan.
Fans were left uncertain of the band's future intentions after Tom, 40, left the rock band last July a day before being sentenced for assaulting his partner Vikki Ager.
On July 6 2020, a statement from Kasabian read: "Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent.
"Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track."
The following day Tom appeared in court and pled guilty to threatening his partner Vikki Ager with a wooden pallet, hitting her in the face and pushing her into a hamster cage.
She suffered bruising to her knees, left elbow, outer ankle and big toe as well as a reddening around the neck.
Tom was sentenced to 200 hours unpaid work.
Kasabian have now announced their first UK tour since then for October this year - starting with Glasgow's 02 Academy on October 13 before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff and around the rest of the UK.
It will be a slightly different show from their headline set at the first ever TRNSMT festival back on Glasgow Green, and some fans have mixed feelings about it.
The band, for now, consists of remaining band members - lead guitarist and chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews.
They wrote: "It's with an incredible amount of excitement that we are announcing these intimate shows.
"We love our band the music and especially our fans too much to ever stop.
"There will be all the classic tunes and something new for the mosh pit to bounce to. So come join us for the biggest party of 2021, see you there!!!!
"Sergio, Chris and Ian x".
One fan said: "Kasabian tour has made my year."
Another added: "Bloody love Kasabian and they’re incredible live but a massive part of that was Tom’s stage presence. A superbly charismatic swaggering frontman.
"Hard to imagine them playing without him but considering why he was sacked it’s understandable why they want to try so fair play."
Another said: "Lifelong fan, got a tattoo of them when I was 20, never missed a single gig in Scotland but even I can't process it. Without Tom.
And someone else said: "No Tom No Kasabian. there is no Kasabian."
