Last night, Kasabian surprised fans with a tiny last minute gig at The Finsbury pub in North London, playing their most intimate show in years having just announced a massive outdoor show for summer 2026 at neighbouring Finsbury Park.
The Finsbury Park show, which will see the Leicester quartet headline the 45,000 capacity field - making it the biggest headline gig of the storied rock outfit’s career - is set for July 4th, with tickets on sale this Friday September 26th from 9.30am. They’ll be joined on the day by Louis Dunford, indie stalwarts Razorlight, The K’s, Miles Kane and Sofy.

Monday night’s pub show, however, was a far more intimate affair, with 250 fans snapping up tickets on the day for almost certainly the rowdiest semi-acoustic set The Finsbury has seen. Stripped back yet still inciting mosh pits, people on shoulders and, for a final encore of just-released new single Hippie Sunshine, a full scrum as frontman Serge Pizzorno went into the crowd to conduct the throng from the centre, the gig was a suitably chaotic warm up for their massive summer soiree.
Playing a compact, eight song set including reworked versions of hits Club Foot, Underdog and L.S.F, Pizzorno jokingly commented on the difference between the two dates: “That over there [Finsbury Park] will be super professional. This is a bit more thrown together, as it should be”. The frontman then halted the show after forgetting the words to customary set-closer Fire, laughing and restarting the song for a second time.

Since coming to prominence with their self-titled debut album in 2004, Kasabian have had a rollercoaster career, with original vocalist Tom Meighan asked to leave the band in 2020 after pleading guilty to assaulting his then-fianceé. In the years since, chief songwriter Pizzorno has stepped up to the position, releasing two further Number One albums - 2022’s The Alchemist’s Euphoria and last year’s Happenings - and now topping the change off with their largest ever show.
Alongside the show announcement, the band will also release forthcoming ninth LP Act III in spring 2026.
