Karuah Police Station closed for upgrades, will reopen in November

Karuah Police Station has been closed for upgrades, but the district's commander says it will not affect the availability of officers in that part of the Port Stephens area.

The station will reopen on November 4.

Superintendent Chad Gillies said in a statement the closure would not affect staffing numbers allocated to Karuah.

"Our officers normally stationed at Karuah will simply relocate for the three-week period to Raymond Terrace Police Station, to allow contractors access to the station," he said.

"We want to assure the community that your level of service will not change, we are still present in the area and here to protect the public 24/7, 365 days a year."
