Karnataka: Protests, rallies banned till February 15

BENGALURU: Police extended till February 15 prohibitory orders against protests, rallies and congregations due to Covid-19.

Police commissioner Kamal Pant issued the fresh prohibitory orders on Monday night.

The night curfew order has been lifted but prohibition on all types of rallies, dharnas, congregations — social, religious, political — and processions continues. Marriages are allowed with a maximum of 300 people in open areas and 200 in closed places.

Cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres cannot exceed 50% of their capacity, as also swimming pools, gyms, sports complexes and stadiums. Anyone violating the order will be booked under the Disaster Management Act, section 188 of IPC and under Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act, police said.
