Karnataka: MLA seeks withdrawal of Covid-19 rules violation cases

MANGALURU: Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath has urged the government to withdraw all cases registered against people for violation of Covid-19 regulations in Karnataka.

The BJP MLA met chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday, and submitted a memorandum in this regard. He appealed to the chief minister to withdraw all cases registered against people in Karnataka, for violating Covid regulations, considering the social and economic issues they have been facing.

"People in the nation have been suffering financially and mentally due to the Covid-19 pandemic. People have faced a lot of inconvenience due to the pandemic. In such circumstances, making them go to the courts to face trials will add to their woes. Hence, considering their problems, the government must withdraw all cases related to violations of Covid-19 regulations registered against people," Kamath said, and urged the chief minister to issue an order in this regard immediately.
