BENGALURU: Karnataka reported a marginal rise in fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday. The state saw 405 new infections.
However, the day’s test positivity rate remained less than 0.4 % with 1.1 lakh Covid tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The last time the state had seen over 400 positive cases in a day was on December 4, when 456 cases were reported. On Friday, Bengaluru accounted for 254 cases. Eleven districts reported zero Covid cases.
There are 7,251 active cases in the state of which Bengaluru accounts for 5,866.
On the fatality front, the state reported four deaths on Friday, including that of an 11-year-old girl from Belagavi. The girl died on December 12, a day after she was hospitalised. She had complained of fever and cough and was admitted to a private hospital in Belagavi.
There was one Covid death in Mysuru and two in Bengaluru. The deceased include a 62-yearold man from Bengaluru. As per the Co-WIN dashboard, the state on Friday used 2.7 lakh doses of Covid vaccines.
