BENGALURU: Following reports of Zika Virus Disease (ZVD) spreading in Kerala, the health and family welfare department in Karnataka stepped up vector-control measures.
In a circular issued on Friday, the department directed all districts to intensify integrated vector management.
Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chamarajanagar should be more vigilant, it read. The department said the districts must be alert about anyone showing typical ZVD symptoms like fever, rashes, conjunctivitis, joint pain. Their travel history should be checked.
