DHARWAD: Huge stock of cotton bales was reduced to ash during an accidental fire that broke out at Rajesh Cotton Ginning and Pressing Mill at Belur Industrial Area on the outskirts of Dharwad late on Tuesday night.
After noticing the fire around 11.30pm, locals informed the firefighters. However, before the firefighters came, cotton procured in the mill was completely gutted. However, no injury to mill workers has been reported. It took more than three hours for the firefighters to douse the fire.
Garag police officials, who visited the spot, have registered a case. The extent of loss is yet to be estimated.
