Karnataka: BMTC staffers held for peddling ganja

BENGALURU: Three persons, including two BMTC employees were arrested recently, and 11kg of ganja was recovered from them.

Police said 9.8kg of ganja was recovered from Vithal Bhajantri, a BMTC conductor-cum-driver, and Sharanappa, a BMTC depot staffer. Both are residents of Kengeri.

Kengeri police detained a ganja consumer recently and based on information provided by him, arrested the duo. They confessed to have bought the drug from peddlers in Vijayapura and Kalaburagi and smuggled it to Bengaluru. Police said the two were involved in a drug-peddling racket for the last two years. In the other case, one Mujeeb was nabbed and 1,300 grams of ganja seized from him.
