Karnataka: 8 python hatchlings released into wild

MANGALURU: Eight python hatchlings, born through artificial incubation, were released into the wild on Wednesday.

Snake Kiran, who looked after the artificial incubation of the fertile snake eggs, told TOI, “We had informed the forest department, as soon as the eggs were handed over to us. Shamith Suvarna found these eggs in a construction site near Car Street on May 12, and he informed snake rescuer Ajay Kulal, who brought it to my notice. We informed Bantwal range forest officer Rajesh Baligar, and the team helped in releasing the snakes into the wild,’’ he said.

Out of 10 eggs that they got, two were damaged, and the eight fertile eggs successfully hatched on June 15.
