DHARWAD: Three persons, commuting on a two-wheeler died on the spot at Venkatapur Cross near here on the Pune-Bengalury national highway, on Monday.
The mishap occurred when they were crossing the highway and their bike was hit by a car. The deceased are Susheelavva Arjun Harijan, 35, Raju Kallappa Barametri, 32, and Kallavva Fakirappa Huchhannavar, 42, all residents of Tigadolli village. It’s said that they were returning from Dharwad after selling fruits.
Garag police that the car driver is absconding. Traffic was interrupted for over an hour on the highway after the crash.
