BENGALURU: Three persons were arrested recently for allegedly trying to extort Rs 25 lakh from a grade-II tahsildar working in Kolar district after honey-trapping him.
The accused are Ganapati Nayak, Keshav alias Ramesh Gowda and Kishan alias Santosh from Kodigehalli. A woman is still at large .
The tahsildar from Hoskote told police that he had come to a hotel near KR Puram in July 2021. The woman— Jyothi Vishwanath Topagi—met him there and took his number. Eight months ago she invited him to a hotel in Bhattarahalli and gave him juice laced with sedatives. Later, she allegedly recorded a video of him in a compromising position with her. The trio met the official on February 24 in Kolar and demanded Rs 25 lakh. tnn
