Karl Rove, the aide to President Bush who has figured in the Valerie Plame/CIA leak case, will not be charged. In announcing the news, Rove's lawyer did not say if his client had struck a deal with the prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald's case against a former Bush aide, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, is moving towards trial as the prosecutor investigates the source who provided Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward with information about Plame.
