Karl Lacey has stepped down from his role as a selector with Donegal.
The former county star has been part of manager Declan Bonner’s set-up for the past three seasons as Donegal won successive Ulster titles before relinquishing their provincial crown when losing the final to Cavan last November.
Highland Radio has reported that he stepped away due to work and family commitments - Lacey works as a lecturer in LYIT.
The 2012 Footballer of the Year appeared to be on the brink of leaving the Donegal management team after the 2018 season, when Aidan O’Rourke was set to be named as Roscommon manager and had lined Lacey for a coaching role but ultimately he stayed on board with Bonner.
Bonner has already been on the lookout for a new strength and conditioning coach with Paul Fisher having stepped down after the Championship exit.
