Karl Darlow issues warning despite Palace win - and showers Joelinton with deserved praise

Karl Darlow insisted that Newcastle United must "build on" their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace after ending their run of defeats with a good overall display.

Darlow was in fine form again with a host of good stops after facing 12 efforts at goal from the Eagles.

When asked about the performance, speaking to Amazon, Darlow said: "We deserved the three points.

"The way we played in the first half was a stark contrast to the way we've played recently.

"It's a great result for us and we need to build on it."

Darlow was delighted with the efforts of Chronicle Live man of the match and when asked about Brazilian star Joelinton, he said: "Joelinton has always worked very hard for us. It was always going to change for him at some point.

"Tonight he played very well and his work rate and effort has been there every game.

"It's just a case of continuing that for him."
