Karen Gillan and Tilda Swinton are amongst the most bankable UK actresses according to their box office earnings, a new report has found.
Inverness born Karen came fourth on the list after starring in films including Jumanji, Guardians of The Galaxy, the Avengers Franchise, Oculus, and Gunpowder Milkshake.
Nairn's Tilda also made the grade at number eight with films like Doctor Stranger, Avengers: Infinity Game, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Beach, and the Chronicles of Narnia franchise.
Star Wars star, Daisy Ridley is the UK’s most bankable female film star with her films making an average of £501 million at the global box office.
The analysis was conducted by CasinoSites.org who studied box office website The-Numbers.
They found that the seven films where Daisy Ridley had a leading role grossed an average of £501 million, with the most notable release being “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens”.
Karen Gillan's films make an average of £428 million at the box office. She has starred in 13 major productions and has a combined worldwide gross of £5.5 billion.
Tilda Swinton has made 22 major box office films and makes an average of £80m per picture.
She has a combines worldwide gross of £1.7 billon, more than Emily Blunt and Rachel Weisz, according to the report.
