The wedding season isn’t over yet. Whether you’re a bride-to-be planning a spring or summer 2018 nuptial or you want to be the best-dressed guest, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nimrat Kaur are here to help with the perfect traditional dresses to wear to a warm-weather wedding — in all shades of grey.

Choosing neutral colours and demure silhouettes in lieu of the vibrant, dramatic ensembles you might come to expect, Kareena and Nimrat showed off their traditional princess looks at stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania’s son’s Navjote ceremony (a Zoroastrian ritual with which you are inducted into the religion) in Mumbai on Saturday. Before you call their understated, at-ease and unfussy style boring, take a moment to appreciate their two designer ensembles with an iridescent shine.

Nimrat’s embellished Anushree Reddy ensemble served up old school glamour and the same could be said of Kareena’s embroidered anarkali with a heavy border.
Kareena went the demure route with sheer long-sleeves and paired her analytical grey stunner from Simar Dugal with a matching printed dupatta for a stately elegance. She accessorised the of-the-moment hue with polki chandbaalis and a matching ring from Khurana Jewellery House. A sleek ponytail and her signature smoky eyes completed the look.

Nimrat opted for a simple, full-on monochrome look with a silver metallic shade. Her greige (beige + grey) saree looked feminine and perfectly lent to quintessential spring and summer looks. We love the way the choice of colour gave her outfit an air of delicacy and refinement. This look is perfect for the bride who fears a little colour in her closet and favours subtle tones. Nimrat’s vintage diamond earrings from Kajal Fabiani, simple low bun and minimal make-up added the right amount of finesse to her romantic, pale outfit.

Neutral wedding dresses are having a major moment as a super chic but subtle alternative to colourful, bright shades. As demonstrated by Kareena and Nimrat, these romantic and totally dreamy, soft tones create beautiful multi-dimensional colour and with so many shades to choose from - champagne and blush to grey and gold - it’s another great way to customise and showcase your personal style. Because soft, girly hues look great in big or small doses, choose how you want to embrace them: Whether it’s a floor-length gown and anarkali, a pleated blouse, or a pair of heels.
