Kareem Hunt suspended 8 games for incident at Cleveland hotel

The wait for the NFL’s punishment on new Browns running back Kareem Hunt is finally over. After weeks of speculation, a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the league is suspending Hunt for the first eight games of the 2019 season for violating the personal conduct policy.

The suspension stems from his widely publicized domestic violence incident at a Cleveland hotel in 2018. Hunt was captured on video shoving and kicking a young woman in his entourage.

The Kansas City Chiefs quickly released the 2017 NFL rushing champ as a result. Cleveland signed Hunt after the season ended, knowing a lengthy suspension was likely imminent from the league.

The suspension will cost Hunt nearly half his base salary.
