Kareem Hunt, Trayone Gray placed on non-football injury list

We will have to wait a little longer to see the training camp debut of new Browns running back Kareem Hunt. The free agent signee was placed on the non-football injury list after reporting to Browns training camp in Berea on Wednesday.

Hunt has a groin injury he suffered working out. It is not expected to be a long-term injury. Players placed on the active/NFI list can be activated at any time and remain on the count towards the 90-man roster limit.

Rookie RB Trayone Gray was also placed on the NFI list with a calf injury. Gray is an undrafted rookie from Miami hoping to impress in camp.

Browns GM John Dorsey addressed Hunt’s recent incident at a club in Cleveland. Dorsey said the June argument between Hunt and a friend was noted by the team but not a big deal,

“Freddie (Kitchens) and I both had a chance to sit down with him and he understands there’s no guarantees in life, and he’s going about exactly what he’s been going about,” Dorsey said in his press conference. “He’s working his fanny off on the field as well as off the field.”

Hunt is suspended for the first eight games for his assault at a Cleveland hotel while he was still a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
