Kareem Hunt participates in Orange and Brown scrimmage

Browns fans got their first look at Kareem Hunt in action in a Browns uniform on Saturday. The running back took the field at FirstEnergy Stadium for the revived Orange and Brown scrimmage on Saturday.

It was the first time Hunt has participated in more than conditioning drills since training camp kicked off two weeks ago. He had been nursing a groin injury that did not require surgery but did keep him from going full speed.

Coach Freddie Kitchens was happy to have No. 27 in action.

“It was nice to see Kareem do that,” Kitchens said after the scrimmage. “It is a slow process. We want to be safe with them and careful with getting him back. This was really the first day he had a chance to get back out, and I was pleased. He came out and did some individual stuff and some drill. It was very good.”

Hunt is eligible to play in preseason games despite an eight-game suspension to start his first year with the Browns. The suspension does not take effect until the regular season starts.
