Kareem Hunt after his Browns debut: ‘I couldn’t be happier to be home’

Kareem Hunt made his long-awaited debut as a Cleveland Browns running back on Sunday. The Cleveland-area (Willoughby) native gained 30 yards on four carries and also caught seven passes for 44 yards in his first NFL game in over a calendar year.

Hunt was emotional and overjoyed in reflecting on his first game after an eight-game suspension.

“There’s not enough words to describe how I felt out there,” Hunt said through a broad smile in his sing-song voice. “So emotional. Hyped. Sometimes I was thankful, sad.”

Hunt admitted he nearly came to tears with the emotional intensity of the situation.

“A couple of times I thought I was going to shed a few (tears). It felt so good to be back out there. It’s what I love to do and I couldn’t be happier to be home, too. To bring a home win to the Browns, it feels good.”
