Kareem Hunt has sports hernia surgery, expected back for Week 10

Kareem Hunt did not play in Thursday night’s preseason finale against Detroit. He had a good reason for missing his last chance to play for the next two months.

Hunt had surgery to repair a sports hernia, an injury that kept him idled for some of the preseason and training camp. The running back will rehab from the surgery during his eight-game NFL suspension, though he will not be allowed to do so at Browns facilities.

The team expects Hunt to fully recover by the end of his suspension and be ready to roll in Week 10, his first game eligible to play. The Browns have a bye in Week 7.
